Acropolis Quintet
An evening of European jazz at the fabulous Flagey radio hall.
We saw three acts for 15 euro, each act had a 45 minute slot followed by an interval of 15 minutes - so a three hour show for the price is a bargain.
Well...not entirely for me, since I had paid the ticket of my girlfriend in advance. And she paid me on the basis of whether she liked each act.
The first from Finland were borderline insane - at least their singer. They made me smile although I'm not sure that was intended effect. Don't recommend. And I lost five euro on that...
The second (featuring in the blip) were good, led by a Slovenian pianist with a Turkish vocalist and various other south-East Europeans. I got 4 out of 5 euro.
The last group from Paris were by far the best MeTaL-O-PHoNe - well worth the five euro.
Still, all in all a good night out in a great setting. Even bumped into several people I know by chance in the audience.
