Carolyn's Celtic knot

I've known Carolyn since her childhood and was heartbroken when she died last November, just short of fifty.
Imagine my surprise when I opened a file drawer and out popped this little painting from 1996, with a note from Carolyn in gold ink. Describing the symbolism, she had written, 
"The half circle represents rebirth and spiritual awakening."
May it be so for her now.
