Monday's painting...

...I squished left over black paint on this page. I had it in landscape mode as I was doing this. It didn't cover the paper completely as you can see, you can see paler brushstrokes.

But then I turned it portrait mode, and the paler 'trees' now looked liked paler steps...

Indecision.

Then I chose portrait mode, and accentuated the 'steps' very slightly with a white chalk pen and a little scratching. So, in effect, this painting suggested itself...

I scratched a bit of vegetation at the bottom, and the minuscule doorway of light at the top of the steps...

The shadow world today...
