New Zealand Woodpigeon

The woodpigeons in New Zealand are enormous, at least twice the size of our pigeons. This one had been sitting on a branch for ages and then decided to depart and I was lucky enough to catch him in flight.We were sitting outside until after sunset. 
Today has been a Bank Holiday in Auckland and we had my daughter's parents in law and her sister in law over for dinner. It was so hot that we all went in the pool but it wasn't that cooling as the pool was 31degrees C hotter that the air temperature!
I think the weather is going to be a bit cooler with possible rain showers next week.
