New growth

The new shoots of our Japanese Andromeda, Pieris japonica are amazingly red. They say that the plants does this to protect the new shoots from the bright sunlight. That seems highly unneccessary at the moment - but soon enough that will change. :-)

Last year we blipped a flowering Japanese Andromeda. Later we planted it in our allotment garden.
