Big Monday

Today was the monthly social meeting for the ladies of the Monday Club where I usually play badminton and others play bridge.

This afternoon we were treated to a fascinating talk by the journalist Melanie Reid who writes a weekly column in the Saturday Times magazine about her life as a tetraplegic since she was paralysed in a riding accident nearly ten years ago. She spoke with great candidness and surprising humour which kept us spellbound. That's Melanie on the right at the front.

As always the added bonus after the talk was the lovely afternoon tea.

Tomorrow I'm off to Troon for a couple of days to visit bestie Gill. Weather permitting...
