Bacteria

Taking the agar plates out of the incubator today I noticed this one was looking especially good. These plates are the results of ‘finger dabs’ where the pupils place their finger onto the nutrient agar plates and we incubate it to see what bacterial colonies grow, although the one top right is probably a mould.
Because we don’t know what these bacterial colonies are, the plates are sellotaped shut so they can be looked at then autoclaved at 121 c for 15 minutes to ensure all the bacteria are dead.

Grateful today for -
Lex! His smile can brighten up even the most horrible day
A fun day at work
