The miseducation of.....

Sonu

A Musing
Today I went over to the dark side of the Pennines to say hello to a Nepali doctor who I met with mutual friends in Kathmandu last autumn. Sonu arrived in Manchester last week to study and take her PLAB exams. Rescued from her dreary lessons we went out for lunch in Media City.
She had brought me freshly ground Himalayan coffee which predictably  made me happy.
We had such lovely catch up and chat about all manner of things. Nepal remains an independent country, no mean feat sandwiched between the two most populous countries in the world. There's something of that strong Nepali thing in Sonu too.
She tells me she's never seen the sea....or Yorkshire!
Dhal Bhat with a Yorkshire twist will be required.

A Tune
Not much Serangi playing on spotify so here's James not very Nepali at all.
Sit Down Next to Me by James

Those who feel the breath of sadness
Sit down next to me
Those who find they're touched by madness
Sit down next to me
Those who find themselves ridiculous
Sit down next to me

In love, in fear, in hate, in tears
Down
Down

Oh sit down
Oh sit down
Oh sit down
Sit down next to me
Sit down, down, down, down, down
In sympathy
