EPIC E7
I have told this story before but always worthy of another telling ( I think)
E7 (as it was called) was tagged and monitored by satellite - it left NZ shores and flew 10,200K TO China - rested for 5 weeks - then flew another 5000k to alaska.
4 months later she began her 8 day 12,000k journey( NON-STOP) back to NZ. She didnt stop and never glided - continuously flapping her wings ! She averaged a speed of 80k per hour. The longest non-stop flight of any land-bird on earth !!
What an amazing little bird - here's a reli of the famous E7
