Grain Elevator

The elevator is at another of my repeated photo stops with the preferred structure that I planned to record sadly gone. I last shot and published it here on January 9 of last year. Here: BUT HORRORS, it is gone, well almost gone, just a base square perhaps 8 feet off the ground now. This is why we record what we do, and this is not the first time I have experienced such loss.

So rather than shoot the ugly square I turned to focus on, even with the sun not in a good position, the wonderful grain elevator just on the other end of a long wide field where my structure stood. I do love these great looming shapes out in the endless flat land of this Idaho rolling intermountain country.

And I also loaded yesterday's of the great Snake River with ice floes - a new phenomena for me! One back.
