Stepping away....

I've been immersed in this piece most of the day....it has morphed so many times and i think it's time to step away from the easel....before i go over the edge!!!

For the last hour i've been listening to this fabulous podcast about

women artists of the 40-50's.


So intriguing, artists like Helen Frankenthaler, Lee Krasner, Alice Neel....all amazing artists creating within a very male dominated milieu .  It is wonderful to hear, in their own voices, how they navigated this challenging time, and how some, Helen Frankenthaler in particular, had no use for the description 'Woman Artist'....really fabulous podcast.

Still snowing out there, so i'm happy to be inside...now for some reading!
