From my balcony, I can watch the world go by, but I rarely do it.  I often see this man in my street. I don't know him. He is obviously retired, but always wears a smart suit, polished shoes and a trilby type hat. I have never seen him without his briefcase.

He could be a retired business man and feels most at ease dressed as if he were going to work. Maybe he identifies with the job or career he had. I've never seen him with anyone. He does his shopping alone.  

Each person we see has stories to tell - anything we may think or say is pure speculation.
