Taking a break
Another beautiful sunny day. Xena and I met up with L the dogsitter for a walk with the puppy she is currently looking after, who Xena has met a few times. There was instant recognition between the two dogs and they played non stop throughout the walk, but towards the end of the hour walk they finally showed signs of slowing down and gave each other a break from the constant games of chase and jumping all over each other. Here Xena is catching her breath, standing in the heather.
L bakes biscuits and muffins for the dogs and today we came home with a bag of freshly baked doggie muffins consisting of gram flour (as I like to keep her diet gluten free), cheese, egg and peanut butter.
I had some admin to attend to, including paying for the Glyndebourne Opera tickets we applied for on the ballot system - ouch! But we are pleased to get tickets and look forward to attending in the summer.
I also spent some time making sure we have everything we need for our trip to Antarctica that is coming up. I realised that Gavin only has one pair of winter walking trousers and if he sits or kneels on the ground they will likely get smelly from penguin poo which I hear is everywhere - and according to Peter, who is currently on his way back from there, is so smelly and pervasive. So I bought him another pair today, and thankfully in the January sales they were 60% off, so very reasonable indeed.
