Sally Mair - Loving life

Hellebore

I do like hellebore although I do tend to think of them as Christmas roses! This one has a lovely delicate pink colour and it's really quite strong, my special 'Sally' variety is just going to make it into full flower as I go away I think.
What foul weather today, driving sleety rain, strong winds, no temptation to go out at all although I did what I had to. I treated myself to a bunch of daffodils too, something else I won't see when I'm in India although they do have very nice roses.
Colin's car came back this afternoon with a full new set of front brakes, ouch, and a note that the back ones needed dealt with soon, joy!
I picked up Eilidh this afternoon from her young engineers club and we went to our usual cafe to spend the time before rainbows. Today she had a full hot chocolate rather than her wee babyccino in recognition of the horrid weather and the fact that I won't be picking her up again for the next month while I'm away... she had marshmallows and cream, of course! I don't know when they became an essential part of the drink, perhaps it's something else from across the pond. She enjoyed reading another Horrid Henry book and only had a couple of pages left to read when it was time to go, so I sent her home with it to finish later.
We got very wet walking along to rainbows, but she was very happy and enjoyed meeting up with her friends.
We had a quiet evening tonight. I did the first pack of my case and it's under the limit, so that's a good start.
