The dark spirit of Whitehaven...

Nasty weather again today, so we went to The Rum Story museum and exhibition in Whitehaven.

Those poor slaves were packed into the slave ships like sardines...from African villages to the sugar plantations on the island of Antigua.

Meanwhile the owners of the sugar plantations and the distilleries got richer and richer...

A fascinating museum...well worth a visit if you are in the area. A warming tot of rum at the end of the tour went down well!
