Photomuncher's Spot

Ankle-snappers

Well, guess who left home without his camera bag today.  Oh dear!  But I can offer a phone snapshot.

Thursdays are big days on the allotments.  We host a team of 8-10 volunteers from Momentum Skills, a charity who help clients recover from strokes and brain injuries.

The team spend the day getting stuck into all sorts of gardening and outdoor DIY tasks.  All good fun and the air is soon thick with banter and laughter.

In the afternoon Momentum are joined by a class of two-year-olds from the local nursery. Queue even more laughter.

The nursery look after a plot of their own (along with a wee bit of help from the plotters).  In the picture they have just arrived at our Octagon, or outdoor classroom, and are being briefed by Stuart our Chair on the day's activities.  He has a reputation for being a slave-driver and believes in starting them young.

We were able to build the Octagon with the help of Tesco's Bags of Help scheme of community support (that's what happens to the 5p they charge for a plastic bag).

So, a great day, but was I glad to get home for a pot of tea and a wee snooze before dinner. Perhaps I ought to go back to work: I swear it was less demanding.  Nah - bad idea!
