Salt not snow

Meanwhile back at the ranch, a salt creek (source underground) runs through one of the canyons, across a long wash, then slides down several "falls" leaving behind pools and puddles filled with this brackish water.  After it rains and the sun comes out, the water dries up leaving behind acres of salt.  I suppose we could harvest the salt, but the creek is located 2 miles up a canyon after four-wheeling on a do-it-yourself road for 6 miles.
