Orchid Mania

We enjoyed the Cleveland Botanical Gardens' annual orchid mania show with friends this afternoon.  The entrance was in a long corridor and anteroom decorated with old painted doors and red lanterns in accord with its Vibrant Vietnam theme .  It continued into the tropical rainforest and arid desert sections where we also saw a variety of birds from Costa Rica and Madagascar.  All was simply beautiful and a great pick-me-up.

As we left in the frigid air, the sun appeared behind the clouds just in time for sunset.  This is the first time we've "seen" it in over a week. We walked around a bit of the Case Western Reserve University campus and the Cleveland Museum of Art until I was just too darn cold to go further.

With this, January is over and we are moving into February...  Happy weekend one and all! And thanks to Anni/BikerBear for hosting the lovely Friday flower "show"!

PS. We haven’t had a sunny day since December 23. We had 80-100% cloud cover for all but 4 days in January.
