Sheltering from the snow

We were surprised that it has continued to snow most of today. Not heavily but steadily and this has meant that it has not been very inviting to get out and take pictures.

I tried to entice a few birds to come within range with bird feed but without much success.

Eventually Jane suggested going out for a walk in the snow and we walked past this pond that I shot from the other side a few weeks ago. It looked lovely with a covering of ice and snow and I was particularly taken by the robin that seemed to be sheltering under the log.

I couldn't decide whether to go for colour or monochrome but eventually decided on black & white because of the nice contrasts
