It's Ironic...
...that we've got our application form for Skipton Waterway Festival for which this years theme is Victory in Europe Celebration (75 years) and last night we left the EU.
What a sad state of affairs. I voted remain as I liked being part of the European Union. I feel more akin to our nearest neighbours than I ever will to America.
Nobody knows how things will pan out but now, more than ever, we need to stick together and work towards a more caring, inclusive and non discriminative society.
On a lighter note I've been looking through my 1940's book for ideas for our VE Day outfits. It's right up my street because I love the clothes of that era.
Frank found a pinstripe suit in a charity shop the other day. I may have to get some 'noo shoooz'. I'm thinking Ruby Shoo or Poetic License they do great vintage styles and some are non leather.
In the extras there is a pic of some red and green lace up wedges. I had an identical pair in the 60's - there must have been a vintage revival around that time too. I loved those shoes and thought I was the bees knees!
The list of clothing for wartime is interesting.
We're back on the boat and being tossed about on the canal waves! ;-D
