A Sunday boat ride around Lake Tarawera

Another very hot 31 degrees celsius here today and after a morning swim and a light lunch we took our boat Elysia for a gentle jaunt around the lake edge on the side  of the lake where the baches (holiday houses , pronounced "batches") can be seen.
Lake Tarawera has just a short length of road access and most of it is only accessible by boat.
A quiet day ...baches old and new, a little boat maintenance here and there and several clutches of birds to be seen with their babies. Dabchicks in our bay have a tiny young pair which are now learning to dive , as is their neighbouring baby coot chick. A white faced heron can be seen heading for a post perch and mother black swan encouraging her half-grown cygnets to fall in behind.
