Seashells

We both felt a bit weary this morning so to perk ourselves up took Merlin for a walk down to the sea at Emsworth.  It is a four mile loop and there was plenty of interest on the way - streams nearly overflowing from last night's heavy rain, swans and ducks, sailing boats, and an old mill.  I'd not noticed this mosaic before now.  It is on the wall of the local primary and is made of shells and stones from the beach and marks the centenary of the school - which was built in 1909.

After lunch I went to the allotment for an hour or so, to continue the digging of yesterday.  I'm making good progress with clearing the old composting area at the front of my new plot, but goodness, it feels like I have shifted three or four times as much earth than it appears.  It was mild out (around 10 degrees) so although there was quite a stiff breeze and it was overcast, it was really very pleasant outside for early February.

We've just walked Merlin and baked potatoes are in the oven for dinner.  I am not sure I will be good for much other than sitting down this evening!  Looking forward to catching up with your blips. All the very best.
