Festival of Light

And so ends another festival of Our Lady of Light, Mourão's patron saint, which also means it's our fourth festival, as we moved here, unknowingly, just as it was happening three years ago.

It's been non-stop since last night, and after midnight now. The extra gives a good feeling, I thought, of the hundreds crowding the streets in the procession, which includes a brass band and prancing horses.

Gratefuls:
- Padre Luís joining us for dinner in Sr Zé's tonight, so good to have him here again
- the young folk who've arrived here on mission for the third (and last) year
- the stunning day we've had, weatherwise, warm and sunny and most importantly for the procession and fireworks, dry
