Echidna

Up close in the Belair Park. Saw this little beauty crossing the quiet roadway that leads to OGH. Stopped the car and got this photo, plus many more, along with some great video. By keeping quite still the echidna was moving right towards my foot, looking for ants. I then kept moving backwards to give it space. The experience was quite extraordinary.
