Today turned out different than planned. I thought a trip up Pilatus would be a great idea, it’s included in my general pass to the Swiss railway system, including the cable cars. Very quick for me, in 1 hr 40min I could be at the top. When I got to Kriens all the cable cars were not running, as the forecast was for strong winds later in the day, so quick change of plan. I walked up to Schloss Schauensee, looked very nice, and dates back to 880. I stayed higher up above the lake, the views good but light terrible. I walked down to the lake, lots of beautiful birds and a nature reserve. Walked to Hergiswil, a coffee and eclair at the bakery, then hopped on the train, just as the rain started.
