Another "pernicious weed" . of mine.

Well, maybe not pernicious. However, to employ a bit of anthropomorphism, certainly a grim determined one; it's quite small this year, only about 18" compared to the usual 3-4 feet.
There are some wild "Green Hellebores" (NOT this one) growing near Aspatria, home stamping ground. I keep promising myself I'll try and refind them one day/year. IF I can get into the field and wander along the beck. Curiously, we knew it as the Popple beck, but a search of the area on Google© maps turns up only 
Varnycrooks beck - which it isn't.
Crabtree beck - which it MIGHT be.
and Threapland gill - which is a valley name, not a beck name.
