Sock in a socket..

More plumbing delights! This pipework is being stripped out, 4”soil stack in a ceiling void, the same stuff that takes away household waste. This was slightly different as when I cut through the pipe a sock became dislodged! Have you ever flushed your socks down the toilet?
As to the material suspending it....who knows!
