A little less wet on the wetlands

The water on the Wash Road at Welney seems to have subsided now. I drove down there this afternoon and took these pictures. People do attempt to drive through there when it is flooded even though there are signs telling them that the road is closed. Inevitably there are cars stranded and now the emergency services are refusing to pull them out as they had been warned. There was just one vehicular casualty still sitting in the water with police tape wrapped around it when I passed by.
I've added a link from the EDP which reports a gang of seven hare coursers and their dogs who had to escape from their 4x4 s when they became submerged. This has amused MrsW who hates hare coursers and hopefully given the hares a reprieve.
What I do find amazing is how the banks are full of daffodils all about to burst into flower. I was always told that bulbs don't like to be waterlogged and yet these bulbs have been under about a metre of water for a couple of months. It must be a special kind of daff that grows near Welney.
