PRAYING MANTIS (Orthodera ministralis)
Mantis is a Greek name meaning "prophet" or "divine".- and its a sure thing that these little creatures have a very prayerful look about them. They have major legs in front which are tucked up in this picture -meaning it is at rest. The long arms come out to catch their prey. Their eggs are in the zipper-like cases seen cemented on trees.
