Notre Dame with Snow
The going was really difficult in Paris today. In mid-afternoon I made an outing to Pont Marie and the Ile St. Louis to photograph the city in the snow. Lots of Sunday strollers were out, picking their way carefully (much ice around).
This is my favorite view of Notre Dame, from the Pont de la Tournelle--more people on the left bank than I remember seeing (but then they're more conspicuous against the white snow :) Here's an aerial view with bridge and the cathedral, and a more distant extended panorama, showing the bridge at the very left of the image.
Our street (shown on a recent snowy night) was actually closed this afternoon--I think because a couple of cars had trouble negotiating it, though it slopes only slightly.
