Neunkirchen (Odenwald)

...the highest elevation in the county of Darmstadt (510 metres), and part of the community of Modautal. There’s only one church (the German “neun” means nine, but more appropriately it should be read as the dative of “neu” = at the new...). The church (“Kirche”) is dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian, the physicians’ patrons. Not far from the village is Eleonoren Clinic, a rehab institution where I spent the morning with neurological counselling.
