The Finnieston Crane
This is one of the last giant cantilever cranes left worldwide, there are another three still standing on the River Clyde. This always was something that stood out on the Clyde and is a symbol of Glasgow’s engineering heritage.
My grandfather worked in the shipyards as a foreman engineer and always remember him with his bowler hat going to his work. No hard hat in those day’s.
Great memories.
Have lived in Edinburgh now for over thirty years but still a Glaswegian at heart.
