The Pelican Pied Piper

Her name is Beth, and she is The Pelican Whisperer. She shows up at the fish market that I frequent. Notice the fish that are coming out of her right hand. She tosses the bait fish to one side, and then she scans the opposite side to look for hurt birds. Today, she didn't see any birds that needed attention, but if she did, she has a big net that is at her feet. She nets the hurt birds, and does things like take hooks out of their pouches and feet.

Last year, she let me hold the bird while she performed her "operation." It was quite a thrill. I really admire the work she does, and I'll probably send her a few of the pictures that I took.
