Stumped
Continuing with the wall repair, we got a local to help us pull out old stumps with his digger. When he turned up with the enormous one, we were stunned at how fast and accurate he was. It took just 15 minutes to pull out 13 stumps, the largest of which is pictured with Mrs SoL. He was able to manoeuvre the arm, which had a dinosaur-type claw on it, to inch-perfect locations. He avoided walls, worried chickens and fences. He popped off, returned 30 minutes later with a container truck, into which he loaded all the stumps and debris with another ‘grabber’ attachment. He finished off by pushing down a tree on our land which had become a danger to passing traffic. 2 hour’s work in total, on what would have taken us weeks to do. Back-ache update: still very painful. A lot of lying down at the moment.
