Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2020 Saturday — Collage

This day started early with a visit from our granddaughter Ashly and our little great-grandson RJ. Ash was stopping by to give us some gifts for Tristsn, our oldest great grandchild. His birthday is February 16 and we are driving to San Diego tomorrow to see them, so Ash wanted us to take the gifts to him.

This was Ashly’s first time seeing our new patio room/soon to be bedroom. The room was built last March, but we just kept it a secret. I didn’t want anyone to see it until it is finished; well, now that the carpet is laid, it’s pretty close to finished. We need to get the bed set-up and all the furniture in the right place. Little RJ loved touching the new soft carpet. It was fun to watch him rub it with his little fingers.

This morning was the first time we’ve seen RJ crawl. He’s been revving his engine for quite some time now, but he’s finally found a gear and he’s on the go! When he stands, he holds on to his mom’s hair to keep his balance. We are absolutely crazy about him.

Later in the day, I answered an ad in FaceBook Market Place to buy the tall chest of drawers (in the photo). I think it is really a lingerie chest or cabinet. When we arrived at the house to purchase it, we started discussing it with the seller and then started talking about our city and pretty soon discovered that he had been a student of mine some 15 to 20 years ago. He said it was the hardest class he’s ever taken but the class that taught him the most and that he’s continued to use what he learned in my class and then his wife stepped into the garage and confirmed what he had been saying. It was a very delightful conversation. Right before we left,  I asked if we could take a photo. Meeting Kevin again was a great experience. The beautiful headboard in the photo is what we purchased a week ago and borrowed our grandson, Emerson’s, pick-up truck to transport it back home.

This was a very good day!
