"Is it safe to come out now?"

Dear Diary,

This little downey woodpecker wants to know.  Our two day storm, which started with 6 inches of snow and then changed to ice and sleet and freezing rain before turning back to snow again is, I think, finally over.  I've been plowed out twice and Matt will be back this morning to shovel again.  He is such a good guy.  Both he and his wife are recovering from the flu but he never lets me down even when I told him he didn't need to come.  I think I will be able to get out today.

The other discovery behind the books was a punch needle embroidery I did over 10 years ago!  I've added it as an extra.
