With weather warnings from the met office - strong winds kicking in towards midday and from the south west - me and His Nibs took the decision to get a train west and then ride back east, hopefully with a tailwind behind us.

So, the 07.35 from Haymarket to Falkirk High, and then lots of ups and downs and hills and the like on pretty traffic-free country roads en route to Carnwath. From there The Lang Whang home, 24 miles of wind-assisted riding. Back just after midday. Grand.
