Leading Lines
Linton is due to have some serious roadwork disruption at the top of the High Street starting on Monday for 6 weeks. It's part of phase 1 of a huge Cambridgeshire transport project. It's currently very difficult and dangerous to turn right out of the High Street towards Cambridge in rush hour (unless someone crosses at the pedestrian crossing pictured) and the plan it to put in traffic lights to allow people to get out onto the A1307.
This wasn't the first plan, which was to stop traffic turning right at that junction completely and for Linton residents to exit the village another way - but it proved too unpopular and was scrapped.
I've been impressed by the myriad of colourful marks on the pavement and the road and hopeful this will provide a satisfactory solution to the problem.
