Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2020 Saturday — New Windows

At least a week before Christmas we had Bill from “The Window Guys” come measure this little old house for Windows. Nine, that’s right only nine windows in this 1,100 sq. ft. house that was built in 1964. Finally, a month after Christmas, the new double-pane windows are being installed. Next Saturday, new flooring.

There are three windows on the front of the house (1-kitchen, 2-living room) two bedrooms each with long windows that have a sliding part on each end (see photo) on the north side of this house, three windows on the back of the house in what used to be the master bedroom (we are converting it to our combined his/her office room), and one small bedroom with a window that actually now faces into the enclosed patio room that will be our master bedroom — that window has tempered glass because a bed will sit below it in the new patio room (which is filled with junk in this photo because the entire house is in disarray today).

The house is now wonderfully quiet, much less drafty, and definitely cleaner . . . a tremendous improvement.

P.S. The photo — clockwise: top right is the front of the house; bottom right is the 3 little windows in the back master bedroom; bottom left is the north side with 2 separate long windows; top left is the small bedroom the faces into the new patio room (we will be getting canned lights in the ceiling in that little bedroom).

P.P.S. “The Window Guys” is the company that several months ago also sold us and installed our new doors.
