Seaward Kaikoura Range.....

.....amazing view of the mountains as mum and I flew north to Rotorua. 

On landing at Rotorua we picked up a rental car and drove through to Whakatane. It's always a pretty drive round the lakes and through some bush. I've driven it in warm sunny conditions, today it was moody with cloud and pockets of sun. 

We enjoyed dinner with my aunt and cousin, always lovely to be back in my home town, gives me goosebumps :)
