a limpkin

The gangly, brown-and-white Limpkin looks a bit like a giant rail or perhaps a young night-heron. Its long bill is bent and twisted at the tip, an adaptation for removing snails from the shell. Limpkins are tropical wetland birds whose range reaches into Florida. - All About Birds

Steve took me out on the river for a relaxing boat ride in Chelsea, and what did we see? A Limpkin! We don't see them that often, but I thought I recognized it, yes!

Been busy getting ready for our family to visit - can't wait!! Tomorrow afternoon they should be here - for 6 days! :o ))
