Storm Ciara
I’m not sure what I expected of Storm Ciara after all the warnings we’ve had, but it certainly wasn’t blue skies even if the Boroughloch was being reinstated at the foot of the garden after overnight and early morning torrential rain.
What’s more, my Glasgow and Elgin families made it home safely this afternoon from Basel after their skiing holiday. I had thought their flight might have been cancelled.
I had stocked up with Sunday papers and chocolate in case I was housebound, but in the end I read the papers and ate the chocolate even though I managed a blowy walk round the Meadows. The latter looked rather like a miniature Florida Keys. If the water doesn’t drain quickly we’ll have the ducks back
