First Place

Today we travelled down to Pontefract to take part in the YPU Club Competition, where the top two clubs in the region are selected to take part in a national competition.

I'm pleased to say we won the print section (including getting best print overall) and our camera club (Ilkley) will represent Yorkshire at the national contest in Blackburn in October.

It was touch and go whether we'd get there are one point - we left home, the satnav sent us down a little road and we were then blocked by water running across the road.  We took our backup route, and found that blocked by floodwater too!  We were glad we'd left a little early and we arrived right on time to hand our prints in.  Poor Doncaster didn't make it - they had to make do with winning the digital section, their prints didn't arrive.
