Cumbria Here I Come

By marpaul

We we seem to have survived the storm and what a storm it was.  Kept me awake most of the night.  Lots of flooded fields everywhere and surface water in the garden which the blackbirds are loving.  Took Misty out mid morning after it had stopped raining and found the marsh covered in water from the high tide.  Misty was happy to have a paddle but we couldn't walk there so went further along the coast road towards Carlisle where today's blip was taken.  I think they are Dunlins but they could be Sanderlings.  Then spotted the water going across the road so quickly got back to the car and drove back to the marsh near home.  Water across the road there too so cars were turning back but had my wellies on so paddled through just for the fun of it.  Looks like we've got three days of high tides which will be fun.
