The Day After

I guess Ciara passed this way in the night. I didn't wake. Today was mostly sunny and dry, and just a little windy here.  Water was running down our road like a muddy river this afternoon, but I've seen it worse.  The Jed is still within its banks.

Not so the Teviot, just a few miles away in the next valley. I took this shot at Nisbet, from the bridge. The river is normally about 30 meters wide here. In Hawick, a building collapsed into the river, its foundations swept away.

I hope the worst is over ....
