Frozen/Melting Stream

.... on a short cross country skiing outing this morning. Since I returned it has been all systems go with visitors and failed cakes (I am not very domestic), phone calls and an emergency food visit to one of our very old ex colleagues. She rang asking what day it was! When I got there she thought she hadn't eaten for two days and she has an awful cough. Discovering the fridge wasn't working (it must be 50 years old) involved water all over the kitchen floor, etc., etc. She is now in bed and the fridge is working again.... more by good luck than good management. Tomorrow is another day, bless her. These calls are getting more frequent.
