The Unstoppable Flow of Water
I've only once seen the beck in greater spate than it was today. Storm Ciara must have dumped a huge amount of rain on the moor overnight. Saturated with water already, there is nowhere else for it to go but down into the river. The Wharfe has broken its banks and flooded the park and the meadows. It was a spectacular sight.
I've chosen this to demonstrate the power of the water coming down from the moor today. I was hanging off a branch to take this shot of what would normally be a tranquil little stream bed. I sat for ages just watching, totally mesmerised.
