Monster raises its head
We've been hit by a snowstorm, which is not that surprising when you consider we are in Ottawa. Yet this year, we have been a bit lucky/unlucky/canary-in-a-coalmine-ish.
Anyway, boss, boss, the snow, the snow...
And that means the return of the monster. The creature that lives in the garden and shows itself only when half-covered in snow. You can only ever see its eyes as it pokes out from the ground, watching, waiting...
I think it is benign, gentle even - because squirrels live under it and I have even seen a groundhog poke its nose out from behind it. Unless, of course, it is eating the squirrels and they are making a break for freedom.
The stories one tells a 7-year-old. This should have been one of the trolls from The Hobbit.
