Japanese recycling

At one time, even the most magnificent obi in Japan had only one purpose: to tie a kimono. Today people everywhere are discovering the beauty of recycling vintage kimono and demonstrate the almost unlimited decorative potential of the obi. With a special obi, you can add flair to just about anything in the home. They are elegant as cushion covers, bags and purses, wall hangings and even western style clothing.

The one in the picture is my table runner... it must have been a beautiful obi.
