The Day Before the Day After

Mum decided that I needed a B. A. T. H. I tried to argue that I smelled just fine, but she wouldn’t listen. In retrospect, I can see that this was the day before my birthday and she wanted me to smell and look nice for that. But even if I HAD known it at the time, I wouldn’t have agreed that I NEEDED a bath. There is a difference.
